Road trippin’ summer
I’m really excited because the boyfriend and I have booked our holiday together this summer! We’re doing a small road trip around England visiting our old school friends in Leeds, Newcastle and Oxford before we all head to Cornwall for our friend’s 20th birthday. We’ve also booked our flights to Portugal and France this summer which I’m so excited for! This will be our first holiday since we got back together a month ago and it’ll probably be our last before we both start university in September.

The past week and the last day of being eighteen.
Another long period of time has elapsed since I last wrote and I can only apologise for this but it’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks and I never seem to have the time to sit in front of my laptop to write.
Last week, Mummy Wentworth and Katie came to visit for a few days. We visited all the touristesque haunts of Paris, which, even though we seem to have overdone it quite a bit in our family, was still enjoyable as ever. It brought back many memories which we reminisced about over cups of coffee and slices of cake in one of our favourite little cafes. We also visited some family friends - firstly our French cousins and then our old neighbours who moved away from England a few years ago.
This week has consisted of visitors and lots of nights out. Stefan had his girlfriend Ella from South Africa fly over on Monday for a belated Valentine’s Day and 2 week holiday whilst Matthieu’s brother and sister joined us for a couple of days mid-week. As the hosts we naturally wanted to show our guests a good time which means going out. We’re so lucky to live with someone who knows all about French night life (ahem, Matthieu) to avoid any awkward moments which I think Maren and I are both likely to get stuck in if we’re not careful =)
Tomorrow is of course my birthday. This means two things - today is my last day of being eighteen and a celebration is required! I’m not sad to say goodbye to being eighteen; looking back, it’s been good but it’s time to move on to the delights of being nineteen (if any)! I’m not sure what we’re doing over the weekend as it’s a SURPRISE apparently but I’m sure it’ll be good with the French House Mafia and the new honorary member, Ella! I’m also rather excited as Emma, Poppy and Tor will be arriving in Paris this evening to celebrate with me for the weekend.
Here’s to the end of being eighteen and the beginning of being nineteen ;)

I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it.
Mummy Wentworth and Katie are visiting so soon!
I’ll write a longer post on Friday, at the moment I can’t keep my eyes open any longer.

The weekend has begun.. I kinda hoped to do some work today. I’ve barely been productive. Wah.

Bring on the weekend please, I’m missing it
‘Kaaaay,
It’s been a while since I updated everyone on my life and with people asking, I thought I’d better do it sooner rather than later.
Mummy Wentworth and Katie are coming to visit, week commencing Valentine’s Day. It’s better than any card, bunch of flowers or box of chocolates! I cannot wait to see them.. especially my dearest little sister. They’re doing some euro-hopping ‘tour’ though; they’re visiting Munich first for the weekend to see Alex and then me in Paris. Best ‘til last eh?!
Maren and I have been looking into British Sign Language courses at a local British college for expats. The courses seem a bit pricey at the moment, but we’ll have to see what we find. I’ll keep you updated on what we find =/
I’m really looking forward to the weekend! Normally I’m so tired I don’t want to do anything which is almost quite true.. but, I’ve planned to talk to a few friends from home on Skype and we’re going to one of the parties in the city. Because we’re all working towards a child-caring course, we have TONS of work to do too; reading, note taking and so on. Fun! Matthieu’s friend from home (Toulouse) has also invited us to his birthday party next weekend; we’re all going but not sure how we getting there yet. Or even what to wear despite the excess spending!
I’ve been meaning to post my photos on here but I always forget. I’ll make it a thing to do for the weekend, maybe. Sorry to everyone who has asked ESPECIALLY as you keep asking.
Lastly, I’ve decided I’m going to do so much more Twittering and blogging, so I’m in the process of linking them both together! Hopefully you can read one from the other and vice versa =)

Shopping, luxuries!
Rachel and I have Thursdays off due to a change in our hours and so far, we’ve been wasting our days off doing NOTHING. So we decided that we would go shopping in Paris today. The glitz and glam of Paris overcame us and won; it was a sincere and utter loss for our bank balances which are probably feeling quite ill at the moment because we bought literally everything ‘buyable’ in Paris! I was quite productive (as far as shopping goes) and bought a few presents for Mother’s Day. I won’t be revealing what they are as I know Mummy Wentworth will be reading this. But let me assure you, she’s in for a wonderful surprise!
(LONGER POST WITH UPDATES TO FOLLOW. STAY IN TUNEEEEE.)

Happy 18th birthday Ellen :)
Happy birthday to my wonderful cousin Ellen who is 18 today!
I wish I could be at home for the celebrations with the entire family, but I’m definitely there in spirit!

Paris, je t’aime
I haven’t used Tumblr for 11 months but I’ve decided the easiest (and quickest) way to update everyone whilst I’m in Paris is through a blog.
It’s my second week and it feels like I’ve been here since FOREVER =) Work wise, the hours are long and looking after children is demanding but I’m having the time of my life. I’m sharing a house provided by the school with 7 other people… 4 of them are guys and 3 of them are girls. It’s a varied mix of characters with some people shining through more than others but it’s early days at the moment. We’ve been fending for ourselves which is going surprisingly well so far, but we’ll have to see how many lasagnes we can have before we’re bored! (Thanks Becky!)
We have weekends off when we’re allowed to do whatever we want. The first weekend before term started, we were invited to a meal with all the school staff which gave them the chance to meet us and for us to catch a glimpse of what life would be like. The weekend just gone, we did some tourist things in Paris because Rachel, one of the girls I’m living with is from the US and has never been in Europe until now! We went out later on in the evening and I don’t think we would have been able to survive if it wasn’t for Matthieu the only French one of us and therefore the only one fluent in the language!
I was initially worried about my French, thinking that I would be the worst. It turns out we’re all on pretty much the same level although my fluency is improving quite quickly thanks to all these trips to France with the family each year =) Some of the others are finding the language difficult but we’ve decided that we’re trying to talk as much French as we can when we go out shopping and to restaurants. It’s a different story in the house… Harry (who is the only other one from England) has been teaching all the others our colloquialisms and other profanities! It’s quite funny to hear a South African boy saying words like “innit” and “chav” in the appropriate English accent =)
I left England with a few troubles and things to think about… Paris has helped to clear my head, look forward and into the future. I’m sure there’s a lovely French man waiting for me out there somewhere!!
This weekend we’re going to the cinema although I’m not sure what we’re seeing yet and it’s also Maren’s birthday on Sunday so I’m sure there will be plenty of celebrations to be had.
I’ll write again either some time this week or early next week.
